[Theme of the Month] Other worlds

You. Yes, you. Things aren't going well, huh? What is it this time? Studies, work, family? I know how hard it is sometimes to move on. The world is not even remotely fair. And added to that, those moments in which you seek to find peace are even worse. Social media, instant messaging, the constant feeling that you are going to offend someone with everything you do or say. It doesn't help. At all.

But you and I have an ace up our sleeve. An ace that no matter how much the world tries to knock us down, we never lose.

You and I are free. Just by opening a book we can fly to Krynn on the back of a metallic dragon. We can look up and walk through the forest with Asitaka. Take a controller in your hands and be the Dovahkiin. Explore an infinite universe, fly on the Normandy, travel with Lidenbrock to the center of the earth. Middle Earth, Forgotten Realms, Tamriel, Azeroth, Hyrule, Albion... There lies our freedom. We can escape from this sad, gray and crazy world and choose where to live. Because that's why we choose to be different. To be able to tell this sad, gray and crazy world that we are not going to give up, we are not going to let ourselves be defeated. And this month we are going to tell you where we go when everything gets difficult.

The Witness

By elbuenhater

Lately there is too much talk, supporting interest in the new virtues of the next generation, of the visual, of the magic of deception, of what our eyes see, of the beauty of the visual future. Perhaps so much glare blinds us when it comes to truly seeing which games are places to get lost using our minds, alone with ourselves, proving that we are capable of feeling without so much audiovisual festival...

The Witness It would be for a sighted person what a complex breeze of air is for a blind person, an island where each step means a new color, a new learning, a new sensation of mystical advancement.

We wanted to talk about places within the environment where you can get lost, where you can learn to look in a different way, and without a doubt this island is capable of ignoring your gaze. It is capable of making you reconsider if a video game can and should open other mental eyes, other ways of understanding the world, a puzzle that implies involvement is a great journey, a complex journey, a new way of looking at the world.

[Theme of the Month] Other worlds

Jonathan blow is a great ophthalmologist, he wants us to see with his works that not only an image is worth it, a playable dynamic, a moment in the present, The most important thing is to immerse yourself in the complexity of what we cannot see with the naked eye, how incredible it is to travel to the doubts, to the fear of who we are. in a space, to the beauty of getting lost within each player, experiencing what we carry inside...

Genius? Disconnected author's bombast? You decide the trip, but this island without a doubt It is a place where before dying as a visionary you must try, investigate, that inner journey that when thinking teaches you the beauty of this medium. Thank you, Johnny!!!

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

By Serenion

A decade ago, when the world was a much better place, what will surely be the place where I can feel most comfortable in this universeThat place where I take refuge when everything goes wrong. I know that many of you feel the same way about him, so this explanation only goes for those of you who have not yet given him a chance. I talk about Skyrim, the northernmost province in all of Tamriel. Yes, gentlemen, it is without a doubt the best refuge for the mind that there can be. It is true that it is not an easy world. We talk about a imperial province in the midst of civil war, in which an ancient threat takes to the skies and destroys everything. And yet, I feel safer inside than in a panic room.

The why? I attribute it to three factors. The first, without a doubt, is that you are the Dovahkiin. Many people accuse Skyrim, but isn't that what makes us enjoy other entertainment, like the UCM? me personally I feel invincible controlling the Dragonborn. This effect makes your mind clear to the rhythm of a Fus Ro Dah.

[Theme of the Month] Other worlds

The second is the landscape. It may be a terrible place, but no one can doubt the evocative beauty of its landscapes. La Cuenca, Carrera Blanca or Hibernalia are places that I will remember in my old age.

And finally, the music. For me, a of Jeremy Soule's best works. A worthy unmentioned member of the previous month's theme, the soundtrack accompanies at all times an eternal gem that after ten years with us we like to revisit again and again.

See you in Riften. Be good.

The Sims saga

By alf

While this month's theme has crystallized into worlds to which we metaphorically "escape," At first it was going to be about worlds in which we would like to live. Literally. Or maybe not, that I have interpreted it literally. In any case, I wanted to introduce this clarification to explain the apparent irony of the game (games, rather) that I have chosen for this publication: the saga of The Sims. And it's been years since I last played The Sims 4, and when I played a few games to have it a little fresher, I was completely lost, I couldn't remember where the descendants of my original character were scattered. But since I already had it written, that's how it's going to stay. And of course, sticking to the original theme (or what I think was the original theme), Who wouldn't like to live in the world of The Sims?

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

By Serenion

By Madetogaming
[Theme of the Month] Other worlds

La saga The Legend of Zelda

By alf

[Theme of the Month] Other worlds

Simuladores

By alf

[Theme of the Month] Other worlds
