lThe 90s were in my opinion the best years of video games. There were definitely even video games from Disney movies and obviously comics, games like Batman Returns either Maximum Carnage They were one of the best superhero games at that time in terms of the world of video games.

Regarding the “rights” of video games, Capcom was in charge of develop and distribute Marvel games (although it is usually maintained in some cases such as Marvel Vs Capcom). After the time where LJN made its games, Capcom obtained them by releasing games like X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse in 1994; Later in 1995 he decided to start making a game based on the comic book saga. The Infinity Gauntlet, one of the most mythical sagas of the Marvel universe which had its film adaptation this month.

The game became known as Marvel Super Heroes – War of the Gems and it was the title of a side-scrolling video game which is considered a spiritual sequel to X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse.

The story is about what Adam Warlock Call on Earth's greatest superheroes to search for the Infinity Stones before they fall into the wrong hands. Although of course, for some somewhat cliché reason, a certain plot twist occurs where the main villain of the game manages to get them into his possession. What things! No? Although well, it is based on the comic The Infinity Gauntlet and in this one the same thing happens so I guess it's acceptable although I felt a certain emptiness in her.

The gameplay It mainly focuses on the player playing each level, one of the five superheroes: Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Wolverine and Hulk, as they fight through various locations around the world and even outer space. Each character's health bar is independent and carries over between missions (healing can only be done by collecting items in levels or using healing items collected during missions). Which I really liked since it is usually very helpful if you are injured and gives more variety to the game.

And when a character falls or is defeated, better said, such as Spider-Man; This must be reactivated individually with the corresponding item, and after investigating an area, the player may or may not be rewarded with one of the jewels.

Bad About this gameplay is that, my first complaint is that there are many buttons on the Super Nintendo control that are not used very well, since there is only one attack button and the basic jump; so it doesn't give more variety to the gameplay and I was a little impressed that an agile character like Spider-Man didn't have a double jump or an attack with his web, so the game became repetitive for me, and although you can use the infinity gems to use special attacks, I hardly used them to be honest, and the final boss proposed a certain challenge. Although the game bored me after a while, I would forgive it because they allow me to choose my own level reminding me of the Mega Man games, in addition to having the possibility of using my favorite hero.

Graphically The game has an improvement that, as seen in X-men: Mutant Apocalypse, it looks very well done even though I would have liked them to be more detailed, such as the cobwebs on Spider-Man's suit. But despite this I think that in part these graphics assumed what the games would look like. X-Men Vs Street Fighter or the same Marvel Vs Capcom: Clash Of The Super Heroes.

In conclusion the game is for me a bit regular. It doesn't look bad at all but what I didn't like is that the story seemed a bit simple and the gameplay was very basic. I'm not saying that the story has to be as deep as that of Xenogears either Chrono Trigger, No. If not, I think that even though it is a superhero story, they could have given it a little more facts in the plot and given more weight to Thanos in this one as in the comic since it is based on it, although the truth is that at that time the story or the graphics were not very important but the gameplay, which as I said, is very simple and basic; I'm not asking for it to be a game with the best playability ever seen. SNES, If not, they could give it a second attack button, although we should also take into account the time in which it came out, it came out in 1996, a time when the next generation of consoles was arriving. The Sega Saturn and The PlayStation They took ground and 3D became fashionable, and even nintendo was putting up for sale what would be Nintendo Ultra 64 conocido ahora como simplemente Nintendo 64.
