Back in 2014, Scott Beck and Bryan Woods They started writing a script for a movie. horror or suspense that drew attention to Paramount Pictures, who bought it in 2017. After that, It was decided that the director would be John Krasinski (actor known for playing Jim Halpert in the North American version of the series The Office), who rewrote the script to give it its final form and would also play the main actor.

Shortly after it was released A Quiet Place (known in Spanish as A quiet place either A silent place). This film was a complete success, winning the applause of the general public and those who are fans of horror and suspense films.

The film begins by showing us a family that seems to live in a practically uninhabited world. Everyone is rummaging in a store extremely silently, when, suddenly, the younger brother almost throws a toy on the floor, something that the father avoids, who makes him see (without speaking) that he cannot take the toy, because it is very noisy and after that he removes the batteries and leaves it on a table. Regan, the boy's older sister, decides to give the toy to her brother, without noticing the fact that he has put the batteries back into it, and as they are walking home, the toy starts making noise. Before the family reacts, a horrible monster appears out of nowhere and kills the child.

After that first scene, we can see that the abbott family, formed by the Evelyn (Emily Blunt), Lee (John Krasinski) and their children Regan (Millicent Simmonds) and Marcus (Noah Jupe)lives on a farma, where the father investigates a way to put an end to the creatures that took his son from him and that, it seems, have decimated the human population to near extinction.

The key to survival is not to make noise

Little is known about these strange beings, except that they are capable of perceiving any sound that is not part of the “ambient sound”, which has forced the surviving humans to live extremely silently and communicate with sign language.

All family members are aware of the danger, but Regan is deaf, so she's the only one who can't tell if she's really making noise. (or to listen to the monsters in case they do). His father will try to help him with his hearing problem by repairing and giving him different hearing aids. The relationship between both characters is somewhat distant, due to the death of the youngest son of the family.

Evelyn will try to educate her children so that they have basic knowledge

While Evelyn tries to educate her children like a teacher would, Lee tries teach them how to survive in a silent world, where any noise puts them in the sights of those fast creatures. On one of the excursions, Lee tells Marcus that if the ambient noise is greater than the noise they make, the monsters are not able to hear them, so, for example, next to a river or a waterfall, they can speak naturally.

Evelyn is pregnant, so the imminent birth is one of the family's concerns. In order to have the new child, a small room has been created in the farm basement, which has been insulated with paper and mattresses, with the intention that the monsters cannot hear anything. One day, while walking around the house, Evelyn hurts herself and that causes a monster to come after her. The rest of the family is away from the farm and they will have to use all their ingenuity to save her, without compromising themselves.

Marcus, Regan y Evelyn
