Bremen Hot Springs: Controlling the Classic “Bremen Musicians” Inside the Troubled Germany of the 1930s

A while ago, the people at Pixel Powa sent us information about this game in development, and I found it interesting because of its history and graphics. It's an interesting cocktail that combines our interest in video games and comics, and you'll see why.

Pixel Powa is an independent video game studio located in the beautiful eastern Mediterranean. In his own words:

But what is Bremen Hot Springs?

Bremen Hot Strings is a graphic adventure that adapts the original tale by the Brothers Grimm «The Bremen Musicians«, within the context of Germany in the 1930s under the yoke of Nazism.

Synopsis

«In their dream to give the concert of their lives and make known the wonderful 'swing' life, the Bremen band Hot Strings, at the antipodes of the way of thinking and acting of the current government, will be pursued by a relentless SS detective. Especially after the disappearance of one of the members of the group, to which the rest will get to work on detective work in order to find their dear friend.

1. visual novel

Enter the world of Bremen Hot Strings in an old-school Point and Click graphic adventure. Narrated with illustrations that mix the concept art style with that of the current graphic novel:blacksad, Berlin, etc.

In addition, the game has references in video games such as "Life is Strange" and "Valiant Hearts", films such as "Swing kids" ("Rebels del swing" in Spain) and of course Los Trotamúsicos! that the little ones enjoyed so much in the early nineties.

2. Gameplay

Control the four main characters of the Bremen Hot Strings group: Vittorio, Gustave, Klaus and Federico. Each one with a characteristic ability of the animal it represents.

3. Immersive story

More than twenty secondary characters will be found throughout the six chapters of the story. Going from the slums to the mansions of the upper class in the city of Bremen in 1938. Accompany our friends from BHS to overcome all their challenges and personal challenges until they lead to different alternative endings.
