A brown beast of the genre. When Sega announced the return ofStreets of Rage, many of us were biting our nails wondering if it would be up to the task. And boy was it.Streets of Rage 4, developed by DotEmu, was released in 2020 for all existing platforms.

Sobre esto último,el control de los personajes es delicioso, muy en la línea de las entregas anteriores de la serie para Mega Drive, pero con nuevas acciones, nuevos movimientos y una respuesta exquisita.

Sin ser un juego muy largo, lo podríamos catalogar como uno de los más duraderos del género. Además de la variedad con la que cuentan sus fases, tenemos a nuestra disposiciónun nutrido grupo de personajes para escoger, además de personajes ocultos. La guinda se la ponen los modos de juego adicionales, como el modo supervivencia que, desgraciadamente, se incluye en un DLC a mayores.

Streets of Rage 4es impresionante. Uno de los beat ‘em up de corte clásico más impactantes que se han lanzado en los últimos años. Además, se puede jugar hasta en móviles, ¿podemos pedir más? Imprescindible se mire por dónde se mire.

THE TAKEOVER

Otro beat ‘em up interesante esThe TakeOver, el más antiguo de esta selección. La empresa Pelikan13 lo lanzó en 2016 para PC y MAC, pero en 2020 también aterrizó en Nintendo Switch. A simple vista, en cuanto a gráficos se refiere,es el más serio de todosy está realizado con gráficos prerrenderizados con todo lujo de detalles.

Al ponernos a los mandos, comprobamos rápidamente queThe TakeOver bebe mucho de la sagaStreets of Rage, además de tener una banda sonora muy inspirada en la serie de beat ‘em up de Sega. De hecho,uno de los temas del juego fue realizado también por Yuzo Koshiro, y se nota su estilo nada más escucharlo.

En lo jugable estamos ante un título quetiene un control un poco tosco. Al principio hay que acostumbrarse un poquillo a su sistema de combate que, por cierto, cuenta también conla implementación de armas de fuego, pero una vez acostumbrados todo será coser y cantar. Sin embargo, a la hora de movernos y corretear por los escenarios, sí que notamos que no es tan fluido como nos hubiese gustado. Aún así es bastante disfrutable.

Con una duración adecuada para este tipo de juegos,The TakeOverse presenta comouna buena alternativa en el género. No es perfecto, pero resulta divertido, desafiante en los niveles más avanzados y, como de costumbre en el género, es muy rejugable. Otra exponente que tampoco se debe obviar.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: SHREDDER'S REVENGE

Dejamos a nuestras amigas reptiles, verdes y ninjas para el final.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revengesupuso el regreso por la puerta grandede estos simpáticos personajes de los cómics, el cine y la televisión. Tribute Games tuvo la culpa de esta maravilla lanzada en 2022 que se puede disfrutar en cualquier chisme que admita videojuegos.

Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael y Michelangelo vuelven a las calles para dar estopa a Shredder y su Clan del Pie. Pero no están solos, el maestro Splinter y la reportera April, además de algún que otro invitado vía DLC, los acompañarán para dar caña de la buena en un juego que recupera a los clásicos de las recreativas comoTurtles in Time.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revengeistoda una oda a estos personajes. Destila años 90 por todos sus poros y está especialmente indicado para nostálgicos de los “yo contra el barrio” de toda la vida. Divertido, adictivo, rejugable y con el sentido del humor de siempre. Si no lo tienes en tu colección ya estás tardando en ir a buscarlo.
