welcome to hammering, a dwarven colony management game set in the Mara Mountains. This is the first work from the Warpzone studio, a small studio of less than ten workers who have managed to create something that feels fun and fresh.

Broadly speaking, we are looking at a management game with small RPG traces. Developed in an interesting 2.5D, we can manage the colony of dwarves, as if it were an anthill, and collaborate with the Overworld, where two factions are engaged in a bloody war. The task of your dwarves will be to forge and prepare everything they need in the outside world to avoid dying before the forces of evil, as well as prosper and avoid being destroyed by the monsters that swarm under the mountain.

That all sounds great, but what really sets it apart from other management games are the dwarves themselves. Each one is totally different. From name or gender to clan, profession, skills and even personal aptitudes. Thus we can find a dwarf specializing in metallurgy with a prominent nose that will lower her prestige but will make her much more attentive, as we can find a dwarf who after having suffered bullying as a child ends up being exiled for problematic behavior.

Of course, you have to take care of them. It will be easy to keep them alive, just prevent them from dying from the multiple creatures that you will find underground. But to maintain his morals or his greed he will need us to unlock the dwarven dwellings, cooking and even brewing. To do this we will need orographic wisdom, which we will obtain by exploring the mountains, and commercial wisdom, which we will obtain by completing overworld missions. This will be extremely important: if they do not reap enough money, their greed will decrease and morale will decline very quickly. And without beer it will be impossible to keep morale high. And without morals, your life will be very fragile. This tandem will be a basic pillar that must be kept in balance before daring to increase the colony.

All this forms a very attractive set. It is more than obvious that hammering it's a game in early access (early access), since the content runs out in a relatively short time, and some glitches are present from time to time. However It is in more than decent Spanish and its lore is perfectly enjoyable.. If you have the patience to follow the path it will take and the improvements that I have no doubt it will obtain over time, I am totally sure that when its Early Access stage ends it will be a game to take into account by any fan of management games.
hammering It will be available on October 27, 2020 at Steam.
