My first contact with video games came through my parents' old 286 (or was it 386?) computer. In fact, it was a very old PC, even during the middle of my childhood, a time when the first Pentium had already made its appearance, Windows was beginning to emerge and the MS-DOS operating system and its compatible programs would soon sing its swan song. Despite everything, and through different contributions, it had a number of games that were not excessively extensive, but moderately acceptable, with which I enjoyed certain occasional games. The variety also accompanied: there were literally prehistoric arcade-type titles, technically equivalent to those of the Atari 5200, or even (some of them) to those of the 2600, to others that were more modern and complex, already with a plot, development in levels with a beginning and an end and decent graphics and color palette. After having analyzed two of those assigned to the second group (see Prehistorik or the Prince of Persia), today I will finally deal with one of the first. It's time to talk about Alley Cat (1984), developed by Bill Williams.

In this one, we control a black stray cat with which we will overcome different obstacles to accumulate as many points as possible. The initial scenario takes place in the streets where, using the garbage cans installed here and there, which we access through jumps vertical (up arrow key) or diagonal movements (up and left or right simultaneously), always taking into account that the treacherous cats will appear from time to time the head from inside them to make us fall, of which the dogs that constantly patrol the place and that it will be imperative to avoid to avoid lose a life.
Once we have reached the top of the fence, the next step will be to enter one of the windows that open, propelling us through the hanging clothes and preventing the different objects from reaching us. household objects thrown from within (otherwise, we will say goodbye to another life). If along the way we manage to catch some mouse, we will get a few dozen points.

Once this window has been crossed, one of the five scenarios possible:
- A room with a cage located in the center of a table, and with a broom levitating and with its own will that will hinder us in the task of making it fall to the ground and catch the bird that will come from within. This element is present on all the screens, making us fly through the air spinning uncontrollably and, if we are unlucky, expelling us from it if we fall into the window through which we had entered. To leave us alone for a limited period of time, it is convenient leave a few footprints on the floor so that you can worry about cleaning them, although you will have to be careful that at that moment the house dog (another constant along with the broom).
