[Gameplay] Mad Mix Game (MS-DOS)

Reading time: 2 minutes

This time it was time to play one of those titles that belong to my private trunk of memories, that is, what I played as a child on my old computer prior to the Windows era. The curious thing is that, despite knowing him for quite some time, I have actually unknown his true nature until recently. It was not until Rubén Pixelmaniacs mentioned it in one of his publications that I understood that it was actually a clone of Pacman, and not an official game of the franchise. Not in vain I was searching for it without success, it lacked the correct coordinates (I don't remember why, but that game was not among those that I saved from the fate of my old computer, recording it on a floppy disk).

All very well, but what game am I referring to? TO Mad Mix Game, a comecocos developed by the Spanish Soft Mole in 1988. As we will see, it is a game with a very attractive graphic finish for the time, and it has something that not all PC games of the time could boast: screen scroll. This has its drawbacks, such as not seeing the enemies until we are on top of them (a minimap would have been invaluable for planning strategies) or (at least in my case) causing a certain feeling of dizziness. Furthermore, we will meet own-made elements that give it a well-defined identity, which add to the classic power ups that we all know. We can even shoot ghosts in a spaceship! In any case, all this will not make it any less challenging and frustrating.

I certainly think it's an interesting enough game that I'll dedicate a slightly longer review to it one day. For now, here is the gameplay that I broadcast last Saturday. And, as always, don't forget to follow us on Twitch and subscribe to our YouTube channel.
