Imagine that suddenly everything goes to hell. Like 2020 but worse. Well, in that case, humanity only has one option: leave the planet. This is how we leave the planet and only the animals remain. But hey, the planet is still in shit. So the next ones to go will be the otters?!
With that premise we begin Space Otter Charlie, by Wayward Distractions, a very fun platform game in which you take the role of an otter in its quest to survive in outer space. Together with your ship and your crew you will go through different scenarios in this fun adventure.

We are looking at a 2D game with very fun graphics that at no time have a dip or a bad texture, although I must admit that I expected the designs to be a little better.
The game is a kind of Castlevania mixed with a horizontal shooter. We will have to go through the scenarios looking for keys, improving our weapons and even do a little backtracking to collect collectibles or materials for improvements. The control is something curious, similar to that of my dearest VVVVVV by Terry Cavanagh: due to the lack of gravity we will have to play with our thrusters and engines to float, use inertia and even grind to go around the map eliminating enemies and collecting everything we find.
It is not an excessively difficult game, not even its bosses. Once you master its controls, it is very versatile and downright fun. Its arsenal of weapons and skills mean that you never fall into monotony, ensuring that its dynamics are maintained throughout the game.

To that we must add the collectibles, which are a kind of lore of Space Otter Charlie added to data about otters and astronautics.
The music may be a bit weak, although it is not something strange in this type of mid-budget games. It's not too much, even so, which is also appreciated.
In short, this is a recommendable game if you like platforming, with which you can have fun for a couple of afternoons while you fly through space in the shape of an otter eating hedgehogs and killing robots.
